Kestrel was inspired by a visit one sunny afternoon to a local garden. The bright blooms of Rudbeckia danced in the breeze and a Kestrel circled high above my head.

I engraved the lino block for this print using hand tools and hand printed it with printmakers soya based ink on archival paper. A reduction linocut is where you cut each layer of detail and colour seperately. It can be quite a lengthy process with some of my prints having as many as ten layers. Once you have finished the final layer you cannot go back and print the image again from the block. This is why you will notice there are limited amounts of my reduction prints. Each print is named, signed and editioned on the front. All prints will vary slightly due to their hand printed nature. To keep your print looking its best do not display in direct sunlight.
